Qorilazo Noticias: Al promediar las 13.03 horas de este viernes se reportó un trágico accidente en la vía Cusco – Cotabambas, donde un bus de pasajeros volcó hacia una pendiente de 100 metros. Producto del siniestro, 17 personas fallecieron. Dieciseis de ellos murieron en el lugar del accidente y uno en el Centro de Salud de Cotabambas.
De acuerdo a lo informado, el accidente ocurrió en el sector de Huallpachaca en la provincia de Cotabambas (Apurímac), hasta donde llegaron equipos de rescate socorrer a las víctimas del vehículo de placa B0Z-964, quienes serían trabajadores de la empresa minera Las Bambas. Según trascendió, la unidad se dirigían a la ciudad del Cusco e iban 20 pasajeros aproximadamente.
Por la lejanía de la zona hacia un centro de salud, se dispuso un helicóptero para el traslado de tres heridos hasta el Cusco para ser derivados a un nosocomio de la localidad.
El subprefecto provincial de Cotabambas, Walter Contreras, confirmó que el vehículo trabajaba para la empresa minera Las Bambas. El bus habría tomado una ruta alterna porque hay protesta en el sector de Mara, también en Apurímac.

A través de un comunicado, la minera Las Bambas lamentó el trágico accidente e informó que el vehículo era un minibús que trasladaba a 18 trabajadores de las empresas contratistas: Manpower, Geotec, MB Renting, AKD Drilling, Lavalin, M&RC, JRM y JP Natlian.
La empresa indicó que dispuso el traslado de heridos en dos helicópteros con apoyo de la Compañía de Bomberos de Cusco, hacia la clínica Mac Salud de la ciudad imperial
